Reasons
Why…
  • We focus on surveillance and interception to ‘interrupt evil’ before the damage is done
  • We don’t use guilt trips to get supporters, we simply present what we do and invite partnership
  • We work in one country – in this way we focus maximum effort where needed to stop human trafficking in that country
  • We work with one of the most reputable anti-human trafficking organisations in Nepal, and are on-site twice each year to ensure full policy compliance
  • Our partners work hand in hand with other community organisations, local police, border police, local politicians, and community leaders to present a united front in each border interception location
  • We deliver holistic care – family unification, HT education, aftercare and counselling, vocational training and micro enterprise opportunities
To be a
blessing

Our focus is to bless the country of Nepal through training and resourcing trusted community partners.

We work cross-culturally, in partnership with people on the ground to achieve effective and long-lasting outcomes. Our philosophy, is to work with indigenous organisations with established runs on the board in the community development and anti-trafficking space.

We’re partnering with Aashish (Blessings) Social Service Nepal to disrupt the trafficking of women and girls across the Nepali border into India to help bring an end to this corrupt and degrading industry. This is a not-for-profit organisation that has been registered with the Nepal Social Welfare Council since 2006. The CEO is Yubaraj Bishwakarma. Their head office is in Butwal, Nepal.

Meet the team
Ross Nancarrow
CEO

After working extensively throughout Nepal in community development, Ross says “After hearing so many horrific stories about innocent young women being trafficked, I got to a point where I could not stay on the sidelines of human trafficking, I had to do something”.

As the proud founder of EDM, Ross often speaks of the privilege it is to advocate for those who can’t speak for themselves and to ensure as many as possible find genuine hope and freedom.

Janelle Payne
Administrator

Janelle has been working in Nepal for 10 years. She has developed a deep love for Nepal and the Nepali people. During her travels she heard confronting stories about vulnerable young women being trafficked, never to be heard of again. Faced with such injustice, Janelle knew she wanted to be an active part of the solution. She believes that EDM is uniquely positioned to bring hope to countless young Nepali women as their distinctive is interception – stopping the abuse before it begins, delivering hope and dignity to the most vulnerable.

Darren Reynolds
Head of Engagement

Back in 2006, Darren met an eight-year-old Cambodian girl who had been rescued from abuse and exploitation. His own daughter was eight years old at the time and the personal impact led him to leave an eighteen-year career in audio production to pursue justice and freedom for the most vulnerable on our planet. This passion has led Darren to join the awesome team at EDM to actively interrupt the trafficking of young women and children in Nepal and prevent them falling into the hands of those who would harm them.

Stephanie Barreca
Head of Marketing and Social Media

Steph’s advocacy journey began in her early 20’s upon learning about the horrors of human trafficking. The haunting image of young women, much like herself, being stripped of their rights and subjected to unimaginable suffering, is something she could never shake from her mind. She believes firmly that action should not be left to others. Stephanie embodies the principle that we can act right now with what we have at hand.

Jessica Korenic
Partnership Facilitator

What motivates Jess to work with Every Daughter Matters is a profound sense of justice.

She sees it as much more than a job; it’s a calling to stand with the vulnerable to ensure that everyone has the chance to live a life free from exploitation. It’s about making a tangible difference in real lives and giving people the chance to dream and live freely again. As a mother of two daughters Jess is proud to work with an organisation like EDM, which stands in the gap, protecting innocent hearts.

Linda Mapstone
Finance and HR Manager

Linda has been involved with the work of Every Daughter Matters for several years in varying capacities. A passion for disadvantaged people groups fuels the desire to use her time and energy to be part of a team that is making a difference in the lives of many Nepali girls and families. Linda’s experience in the not-for-profit sectors pans across several countries both professionally and on a volunteer basis and she loves the privilege of using her gifts to see others empowered to be all they can be.
